International Students

International students are encouraged to apply to Compass College of Cinematic Arts. If you are thinking about applying to CCCA as an international student, there are a few things you need to know. International Application Process

A. To be considered for admission to Compass College of Cinematic Arts, the prospective student must provide the following:

  1. Completed Application Form
  2. Application Fee ($25 U.S.) non-refundable
  3. Essays (written and oral)
  4. High School transcripts.
  5. Portfolio of creative work (See application)
  6. Letters of recommendation (2)
  7. Declaration of Finances form with supporting documents (official bank statement or sponsorship letter, if applicable)
  8. Copy of your passport or national identification card.
  9. Personal interview via phone.

B.  Written and oral proficiency in the English language. The student is required to submit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam scores (waived for Canadian students). For information you may visit the TOEFL website.

  1. Authorize the testing agency to send TOEFL scores or ACT/SAT scores.

C. Ask school officials to complete and send:

  1. Secondary School Record (Use Secondary School Transcript Request Form)

Admission Requirements

In order to be considered for admission, a student must have:

  1. A high school transcript showing that the student has earned a GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. (average letter grade of “C” or higher)
  2. A TOEFL score of 550 on paper based TOEFL or 80 on the iBT, with no sub score lower than 18.
Students who do not score 80 or higher on the iBT cannot be granted admission to Compass College of Cinematic Arts.

Application Deadlines

Must register to take the TOEFL by December 31.

  1. Complete your Application file by March 1.
  2. Send your application, portfolio, application fee, essay and transcripts to Compass College of Cinematic Arts.
  3. Request that the people providing recommendations for you send their letters.
  4. Direct that you TOEFL score be sent to Compass College of Cinematic Arts (our college code is 5357)
  5. Files not completed by February 1 will not be considered until the following year.
  6. Once decisions have been made, applicants are notified by email and official letters of admission or denial are sent.

Financial Considerations

The U.S. government requires that all students must provide proof of sufficient funds for their first year of study before being granted a student visa. Compass College of Cinematic Arts also must have the documents proving that you and any sponsors have sufficient funds. You can show proof by sending a sponsor’s letter of support and bank statements; scholarship award letters; approved loan documents or your own bank account statements.

The cost of tuition, computer, camera, software and books is approximately $31,935.00 (USD). Additional expenses will be accrued for living and travel expenses. A deposit of $1500.00 (USD) is required from admitted students to hold a seat in the class. This money is applied toward the first term tuition.

NOTE: These figures are based on 2011-2012 tuition rates and fees. These amounts may be changed, at the discretion of  the school, for the 2012-2013 school year.
