Compass College of Cinematic Arts (CCCA) is a premier, faith-based film college set in a unique, conservatory-like environment.  The college offers an intense, fourteen-month program, which is strongly integrated and wonderfully “hands on.”

Compass students learn the art of filmmaking from script to screen.  In addition to learning video and film production, the students are exposed to “tradigital” (social, digital, and traditional) marketing content and design elements, such as graphics, continuity, art production, sound, and music.  They also learn the business of the film industry, which includes creating business plans, management, marketing, contracts and negotiation, budgeting, pitching projects, and distribution.  CCCA is the only 60-credit hour film program in the nation whose students write a full-length feature screenplay.

Compass graduates earn Associates of Applied Science degrees and go on to work in various areas of the entertainment industry, including on productions for major feature films and episodic television programs and for top media companies.  Some alumni also embrace their entrepreneurial skills by forming independent production companies or by joining marketing departments and agencies to serve corporations, small businesses, and churches in meeting their visual and digital marketing needs.

Skill sets in this field are highly transferable and are utilized in various areas of leading industries, among them: social, digital or traditional marketing; media, art or graphic design; art, stage or set directors; story, technical copy, script, news or book writers; cinematography; producing; directing; editing; sound design; music composition and design; lighting, video or broadcast technicians; compositing and graphic animation.

Compass regularly has a presence in the highest caliber productions and production companies.  Its interns and alumni have worked on over 100 major motion pictures and television shows throughout the world.  To date, those films have grossed over $5.25 billion.

Compass alumni have worked on many award-winning and ground-breaking films, including 30 Minutes or Less, Avatar, Bee Movie, Fast and Furious, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Moneyball, Up in the Air, Whip It, and more.  No stranger to television, Compass alums have also worked on such programs as Big Love, CSI: Miami, Desperate Housewives, Dexter, Medium, Monk, Prison Break, and Valentine.

Among the star names with which Compass has been associated are: Ben Stiller, Drew Barrymore, James Cameron, Jim Caviezel, George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Kelsey Grammar, Hugh Jackman, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Val Kilmer, Ellen Page, Sean Penn, Keanu Reeves, Rob Reiner, Jerry Seinfeld, Jada Pinkett Smith, and more.

CCCA has a strong Board of Directors that provides insight, business acumen and oversight.  Additionally, curriculum oversight is provided by an Advisory Board of New York and Hollywood A-list talent and top educational leaders.
